Vest · Terms of Service
A record-keeping tool, and nothing more than that.
Effective: 1 September 2026 · Last updated: 29 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Salt and Co. Design Partners LLC (“we”, “us”), the publisher of Vest. Using the app means you accept them. They sit alongside Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which also applies.
1. What Vest is
Vest is a personal record-keeping tool. You enter the bonuses, accounts and cards you are tracking, and Vest organises them, works out dates and totals from what you entered, and reminds you about deadlines.
Vest does not connect to your bank, does not read your accounts, and does not act on your behalf. Everything it shows is derived from what you typed in.
2. The important limitations — please read this section
Vest is not financial, legal, tax or accounting advice. It reports figures and dates computed from your own entries. It does not tell you what to do, and nothing in it is a recommendation to open, close, keep or apply for any financial product. Decisions about your money and your credit are yours, and you should take professional advice where you need it.
Issuer application rules are community-sourced observations, not published policy. Banks and card issuers generally do not publish their application rules. The rules in Vest are compiled from public reporting by the churning community, each carrying a confidence level and the date it was last checked, both of which are shown to you in the app. They are frequently accurate; they are not authoritative, they change without notice, and they can be wrong. Vest never predicts whether you will be approved for anything, and no output of Vest should be read as saying you will be. Only the institution decides that.
Offers in the deal feed can be out of date or incorrect. They are curated from public sources and are provided for convenience. Terms, amounts and eligibility change constantly, and the institution’s own current terms always govern. Confirm any offer directly with the institution before acting on it.
Vest’s figures depend entirely on what you enter. A mistyped date, amount or institution name produces a wrong answer, and Vest cannot detect that. It is a record of what you told it, not a verified record of your finances.
Vest is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any financial institution. Institution and product names appear solely to identify what you are tracking. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
You are responsible for your own compliance. Whether an account, application or activity complies with an institution’s terms is between you and that institution.
3. Your data, and backups
What you record in Vest is yours. It is stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your own private iCloud account — see the Privacy Policy.
Because we hold no copy of your data, we cannot recover it for you. If you delete the app without an iCloud or device backup, it is gone. Keeping a backup is your responsibility, and Apple’s standard iCloud and device backups are the mechanism.
4. Vest Pro
Some features require Vest Pro. Without it, Vest remains fully usable: you can track up to three active bonuses at a time and parse up to three offers a month with Smart Add, and every core feature — logging, deadlines, reminders, the offers feed, the widgets — is free.
Vest Pro is available as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime unlock.
- All purchases are made through Apple’s In-App Purchase and are billed to your Apple Account. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automaticallyat the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Manage or cancel a subscription in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or via the “Manage subscription” link in Vest’s settings.
- Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial.
- The lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and does not renew.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple’s terms, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases.
- If a subscription lapses or a purchase is refunded, Pro features stop being available. Nothing you recorded is deleted; the paid screens simply lock again.
If you have a statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation where you live, these terms do not remove it.
5. Acceptable use
Please do not: reverse-engineer, decompile or modify the app except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it; redistribute or resell it; attempt to circumvent the Pro entitlement check; or use Vest to break the law or another party’s terms.
6. Ownership
Vest, its name, its design and its code are ours (or our licensors’), and are protected by copyright. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. Nothing else is granted.
Content you enter remains yours. We claim no rights over it, and no ability to access it.
7. Availability and changes
Vest is provided as-is and may change. We may add, alter or remove features, and we may stop publishing or supporting the app. The deal feed and rules list are offered as a convenience and may be delayed, incomplete or discontinued — the app is designed to keep working without them, using the copies bundled in the build.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, Vest is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Vest will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any figure, date, rule or offer it displays is accurate or current.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, opportunity or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of Vest — including, for the avoidance of doubt, a denied application, a hard credit inquiry, a missed deadline, a forfeited or clawed-back bonus, a fee incurred, a tax consequence, or a decision made in reliance on anything Vest displayed.
Our total liability for all claims relating to Vest is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Vest in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version will always be published at addsaltandco.com/vest/termswith a “Last updated” date. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes. Continuing to use Vest after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Bristol, Virginia have exclusive jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections and any right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
12. General
If any provision of these terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Apple terms referenced above, are the entire agreement between us about Vest.
13. Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Vest. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim that Vest fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement is our responsibility, not Apple’s.
